A Comparative Guide: Finding The Perfect Metaverse Office in Sandbox, Spatial.io, or Oncyber.io
In an era where the digital realm is continually merging with our physical one, businesses are beginning to tap into the potential of the metaverse to create transformative experiences for their stakeholders.
At RZLT, we’re leading the charge!
In an effort to enhance connections between our worldwide stakeholders, we ventured into the digital realm by establishing virtual offices in Sandbox, Spatial.io, and Oncyber.io. Here, we offer a glimpse into these metaverses, share insights from our journey, and highlight key considerations for those interested in crafting their own virtual space.
Benefits of a Virtual Office in the Metaverse
1. Increased Accessibility: Virtual offices in the metaverse break geographical boundaries, enabling worldwide accessibility. This strengthened our bond as employees, clients, and partners can visit from anywhere, fostering a truly global business environment.
2. Immersive Brand Experience: By designing an office in the metaverse, companies can create a unique, immersive brand experience. This goes beyond logos and color schemes; it’s about creating an environment that reflects the company’s culture and values.
3. Flexibility: Virtual offices provide flexibility in design and functionality. Spaces can be quickly adjusted to accommodate different activities, such as team meetings, client presentations, or product launches.
4. Sustainability: Virtual offices reduce the need for physical space, potentially decreasing a company’s carbon footprint. This aligns with the increasing demand for businesses to adopt sustainable practices.
Comparing Sandbox, Spatial.io, and Oncyber.io
Each platform offers distinct features, interfaces, and pricing structures that cater to different needs.
Sandbox
Sandbox offers a gaming-oriented environment where you can create, own, and monetize their virtual 3d environments in a similar manner as Minecraft. Also similar to Minecraft, the platform requires an application installed before any creation can occur. VoxEdit is the NFT creator needed to create, animate, and play in The Sandbox. VoxEditor is the first software that allows you to create your own voxel models, rig them, and animate them fast.
However, as it operates on a ‘land ownership’ model, costs can vary significantly depending on the size and location of the land.
How Sandbox works:
Our Sandbox Office
The VoxEdit on Sandbox allows you to create smaller items such as trees, characters, beds, laptops, etc., everything u can imagine, and place it onto the world that you are creating with the Sandbox editor.
We have created a sandbox world where we have two houses.
- 1st house is RZLT
- 2nd House is 4.0 Venture Labs (Our Development Partner Agency)
These two houses will serve as our virtual offices and are filled with artwork throughout the whole map we have created.
These maps will serve as the main office when the sandbox platform reaches its public access. Currently, you cannot publish your spaces on the sandbox, and nobody can view them because the platform is still in private access.
Here are the distinctive features of Sandbox:
1. Sandbox Editor: This is a platform where you can construct the scene by adding assets and incorporating physics. It allows you to design dynamic elements such as movable cars, interactive doors, and portals.
2. Sandbox Voxel Editor: As previously mentioned, this feature facilitates the creation of smaller items that can be placed within the editor.
3. Sandbox Marketplace: This is a dedicated market where you can acquire land via OpenSea. All the items that are crafted have their own marketplace. Each individual has the opportunity to create an item in the voxel editor and list it on the marketplace for others to buy.
4. Integration of NFTs: Sandbox offers a unique feature where you can display NFTs as billboards within the virtual world. This is a functionality we have utilized, and you can view its implementation in the video.
Our Findings
Sandbox indeed offers the most extensive range of features, being constructed similarly to a game. However, it does present some shortcomings, such as:
1. It necessitates using a desktop application for accessibility, reflecting its game-like nature.
2. Despite lacking a public release, only select areas of their metaverse are accessible.
3. Advanced Sandbox tools are expensive and necessitate a significant amount of resources.
Spatial.io
Spatial.io specializes in offering a deeply engaging virtual reality collaboration environment. It stands out for its capacity to support live interaction, making it a solid option for organizations hosting virtual meetings or events. Regarding pricing, Spatial.io utilizes a subscription-based approach, which could offer more reliable and cost-effective solutions for smaller enterprises.
How Spatial.io works:
About a year ago, Exclusible.io partnered with Spatial.io and launched a Penthouse NFT collection. This unique collection has allowed users to buy and personalize through the Spatial platform.
We’ve created our own “Miami Office” by modifying the space using NFTs owned by RZLT, its employees, and friends.
RZLT Miami Office
Our Observations
1. We’ve held various internal events at our virtual RZLT Miami office, and It’s a breeze to generate and adjust.
2. We’ve also had internal functions where we used this as an opportunity to display some of the NFTs collected over the years. It is extremely effective for online gatherings such as presentations.
3. It Integrates seamlessly with a variety of platforms, including ReadyPlayerMe. The platform is also entirely ad-free and does not require any specific application; everything is created directly on their website.
4. A unique feature allows you to identify the owner of specific NFTs simply by hovering over them with your mouse cursor.
5. The platform comes with its own dedicated mobile app.
Oncyber.io
Oncyber offers a distinctive fusion of a social arena and an online art gallery. Among the three platforms, it is the most visually oriented, making it the perfect choice for businesses emphasizing visual display.
RZLT Oncyber office
This is the NFT office that was created on the Oncyber platform.
How Oncyber works:
Oncyber and Spatial have a similar scope of services, with the main difference being that Spatial is more user-friendly (targeted towards web2 users), whereas Oncyber is more web3.
Our Observation
1. The creation process was straightforward, involving the purchase of an Atari template and a drag-and-drop feature for NFTs.
2. The platform is entirely ad-free and requires no proprietary software – everything is created within the platform’s website.
3. The platform allows users to identify the owners of specific NFTs by hovering over them with the mouse cursor.
4. The platform supports additional 3D content and 2D NFTs, including the option to upload and display custom 3D models.
Key Takeaway
The choice between these platforms will largely depend on the specific needs and priorities of your business. For a gaming-oriented, highly customizable environment, Sandbox might be the right choice. If real-time collaboration is a priority, then Spacial.io could be a better fit. For businesses that want a visually stunning space to showcase their brand, Oncyber.io is worth considering.
In conclusion, the integration of virtual offices in the metaverse is not just a trend; it’s a paradigm shift in the way we do business. It offers exciting possibilities for innovation, collaboration, and engagement, and platforms like Sandbox, Spacial.io, and Oncyber.io are making it more accessible than ever.
