RZLT’s Top 5 Web3 Events of 2023
Web3 happenings you shouldn’t miss this year
Web3 events and conferences took center stage across the globe in 2022. From far and wide, creators of all kinds showcased their projects to crowds of thousands. Through the eyes of RZLT’s resident web3 professionals, we have witnessed and selected our favorite events of 2022 and the five most important and anticipated events in 2023.
Let’s dive right in.
RZLT team’s favorite Web3 event experiences in 2022
BlockSplit May 24–25
BlockSplit takes place in the beautiful city of Split, Croatia. Bringing blockchain startups, developers, researchers, investors, marketers, and designers all under one roof. BlockSplit is an increasingly important international conference for blockchain business and development, hosted by UBIK — Croatian Association for Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies.
Although a smaller conference, Blocksplit is one of the most engaging Web3 events in the Balkans region, and RZLT had the pleasure of being one of the sponsors. We also had the opportunity to send a large part of our team to enjoy the conference and provide two headlining speakers — Anita Erker, and Josip Vlah. The vibes of late spring on the Mediterranean brought out the fun side of Web3 in everyone, with activities and parties lined up for the attendees, with the Croatian coastline and Split’s pristine ancient Roman structures providing a completely unique setting.
This is probably the one we had the most fun at, along with a lot of hard work! Check out the recap of our expedition to BlockSplit here 👇
NFT.NYC — June 20–23 (returns April 12–14, 2023)
For its 4th year in a row, NFT.NYC, the leading non-fungible token event in the US, brings together the global NFT Community to showcase the future of the NFT space with new and existing projects. Each year NFT.NYC gathers the global NFT community of brands, developers, entrepreneurs, gamers, artists, investors, collectors, and enthusiasts. This conference is a must-go if you’re building and networking in the NFT space!
“At NFT NYC, we got introduced to innovative projects with real-life utility. Projects like Zora and Doodles left a lasting impression. Both are doing very creative yet complex stuff in the space, and the sheer magnitude of the conference makes it one of the top events in the industry annually.” said Josip.
Art Basel December 1–3
We finished off our year of events in Miami, and what a finish it was! Art Basel is an international art fair staged annually in Basel, Switzerland; Miami Beach; Hong Kong, and Paris. In December in Miami, NFTs took over the streets, literally.
According to Josip, “Although it is not a Web3 event at its core, NFTs stole the show at Art Basel. The event ran for a week in beautiful Miami. Their NFT Now Gateway blew me away with how shops in the street were turned into NFT stores. For example, your local supermarket was converted into an NFT store with brands like Porsche and Nike’s RTFKT owning a few.”
The event works in collaboration with the host city’s local institutions to help grow and develop art programs. From traditional art like painting and sculptures to digital art.
For the artists working in the Web3 environment, there’s no better place to exhibit, network, or simply enjoy the art and mingle with the masses.
The 2023 events lineup is coming in hot!
Numerous important Web3 events will take place in 2023, but unfortunately, we can’t attend them all. However, we’ve narrowed them down to five that will give you the best information, valuable content, and a grand time. Here they are, in no particular order.
NFT Paris February 24–25
This one-day event in the City of Light has everyone excited and counting the days. On speaking to several of the organizers, we were assured of two things you’re sure to experience at NFT Paris: quality speakers with useful insights into connecting NFTs to your brand and an aesthetically pleasing, thought-provoking, fun-filled day.
No true NFT enthusiast would say no to this event if presented with a chance to attend! So best believe we’ll be there. RZLT will be represented there by our resident NFT & Metaverse specialist, Josip, at the very least.
ETH Denver February 24 — March 5
The 2022 event featured thought leaders and major players in the Ethereum ecosystem like Aya Miyaguchi from the Ethereum foundation, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin, Kimbal Musk, and others. This year is sure to be a star-studded affair with many fun activities.
Web Summit Lisbon November 13–16
Whether you’re starting a business in Web3 or already own one, Web Summit is a must-go. It is a great place to gain a foundation in this space and learn from veteran speakers on how to build a sustainable and scalable business in a decentralized ecosystem.
Web3 Dubai Summit March 13–15
The Web3 Dubai Summit is an annual conference for Web3 builders, founders and investors. It is an opportunity for Web3 builders to learn business essentials from the pros, such as networking, pitching, and running a business the right way. With active investors and some of the most notable VCs in the industry present, this is a no-brainer for anyone building in Web3.
Blockchain Founders Fund, Draper Gorem Holm, and Al Maskari Holdings are only a fraction of the firms in attendance. On the other hand, investors also have a swell day as they are presented with potential game-changing startups and a chance to get in from the ground up. This is a paradise for anyone building in Web3. With investors and VCs ready to back useful projects, this is an opportunity to get yours on the map.
Paris ETHCC July 17–20
The Ethereum Community Conference (EthCC), taking place in Paris, is the largest annual European Ethereum event focused on technology and community. Three intense days of conferences, networking, and learning.
EthCC covers different subjects and addresses different levels of comprehension of blockchain technology through conferences and workshops run by the community for the community. There’s no better event for European Ethereum and blockchain enthusiasts.
What we hope to see in the Web3 events of 2023 is more quality content, more traditional brands getting involved, and more interest from people who are not necessarily Web3 enthusiasts but have a genuine interest in learning and augmenting their businesses with it. RZLT will be on top of all the Web3 happenings this year, and as we continue to learn, so will you.
